Term 2 Reflection

We have had a busy term in Room 5 and I hope everyone is now having a wonderful relaxing holiday.

We travelled back in time to Ferrymead for our inquiry topic of 'Our Story' where we looked at what early Canterbury was like in the 1850s. The students dressed up and had to follow the rules of 'children should be seen and not heard' and 'girls before boys'. This was rather challenging for some people!

The Red Cross visited school with a gift of a red emergency torch for every family. The torches run without batteries, have a radio and can charge cellphones and laptops. St John ambulance also visited and explained what to do in an emergency and the students practiced phoning 111 in the event of an emergency.

The Crusaders visited Burnham in the last week of term and the students received signed flags and hats from Vodafone. It was pretty cool to see the guys in person.

Next term looks set to be just as busy so enjoy your break and see you in two weeks!
