Onion Bhaji's

You eat the part of the onion that grows under the ground.  Onions belong to the same family as garlic.  We use onion in lots of different foods.  You can get purple (red) and brown onions.

Today we made Onion Bhajis.  Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
- 3 large onions
- 100gms of wheat flour
or chickpea flour
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic (optional)
- 8 Tbsp water

- 1 Tbsp oil

Preparation
1 Slice the onions into thin strips. Onions make you cry when you cut them so be careful.
2 Mix all the ingredients together in a large
bowl. Add more water if needed.
3 Heat the oil in pan.
4 Place two tablespoons of the mixture into the
pan. Turn over once browned.
5 Once cooked all the way through, take the
bhajis out of the pan and place them on a
plate to cool before eating.
