What's for Lunch? - Spinach

Today we had our first 'What's for Lunch?' cooking session and we made yummy Spinach smoothie.

If you want to try it at home, here's the recipe:

Smoothie with Blender
Serves 8-10 pupils
Ingredients
- 4 small stalks of spinach
- 2 bananas
- 2 cups of milk
- Half a teaspoon of
honey
- Half a lemon squeezed
(optional)

Preparation
1 Wash all of your
spinach and peel your
bananas.
2 Put everything in the
blender and blend until
its smooth and all the
spinach is broken up.
Enjoy!

Room 3 enjoyed trying spinach smoothies, and discovering that if you rub spinach on your teeth, it makes them feel very smooth because of the high oxaloacetic acid concentration.
This mineral in spinach actually forms crystals on the surface of your teeth, which is what you can feel when you run your tongue along your teeth!

  1. Sounds interesting and now answers my question as to why Nathan wanted to make a Spinach smoothie. :)
